Alphington Grammar is one of the 50 best schools

MELBOURNE | The Alphington Grammar school of the Greek Community of Melbourne is now placed number 43 in the VCE School Ranking for 2013, and according to daily Melbourne newspapers the school is now considered one of the most improved throughout Victoria over the last ten years.

Principal Dr Vivianne Nikou noted that “The class of 2013 have broken the record set by the class of 2012 and reset the benchmark of performance for future generations of Alphington Grammar students,” and continued by saying: “Our students have performed very well achieving a median Study Score of 33 for the year. 19.2% of our Study Scores this year have been in the range of 40+”.

The excellent results achieved by Alphington Grammar School were praised by the President of the Greek Community Bill Papastergiadis: “A spectacular achievement for the Greek Community of Melbourne and for its flagship school, Alphington Grammar”.

The exceptional results have meant that Alphington Grammar School has out ranked many long standing private schools, such as Xavier, Carey and Wesley, vindicating the Greek Community’s committement to invest in a school that reflects a global and multicultural educational approach.

Mr Papastergiadis reaffirmed the Greek Community’s committement to “excellence in education” and noted that our aim is to “turn this school into one of the academic elites of Victoria”.

Finally, the Chairman of the School Council Mr Nick Koukouvitakis praised the dedication and commitment of the Principal Dr Vivianne Nikou and thanked the senior management, teachers and staff:  “I am extremely proud to announce that through the diligent efforts of our students we have achieved the best ever VCE in our schools history”.
