The Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) has confirmed, once again, the opening of its new office in Melbourne, located in the Greek Community of Melbourne’s (GCM) iconic 15-storey Greek Centre.
This long-awaited development comes after years of persistent efforts by the GCM to bring the GNTO office to the Greek Centre, highlighting the growing connection between Greece and Australia and aiming to boost tourism and cultural exchanges.
In a letter to GCM President Bill Papastergiadis OAM, GNTO Secretary General Andreas Fiorentinos thanked the GCM for providing office space free of charge for two years, calling it crucial for the office’s launch. He also emphasized Australia’s importance as a key market for Greek tourism, noting the potential for year-round travel to Greece and the role of the Greek diaspora in promoting the country.
GCM President Bill Papastergiadis OAM welcomed the initiative, stating, “The GNTO’s presence in Melbourne will strengthen ties between our two countries and increase tourism. This could also lead to more cultural and educational exchanges, creating even greater opportunities for collaboration.”
The GNTO office will promote Greece’s rich culture, history, and destinations to Australian travelers, further solidifying the bond between the two nations.
