Representatives from the Greek Orthodox Communities of Adelaide, Sydney, Newcastle and St Albans met recently in Adelaide to begin the process of reorganising and revitalising the Federation of Greek Orthodox Communities of Australia. Established in the late 1950s, the Federation has historically served as a secular body representing the interests of Greek Australians.
As part of its renewal, the Federation aims to become a unified voice on educational, cultural, national and international issues concerning the Greek Australian community.
Notably absent from the meeting was the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria.
