Victoria’s Multiculturalism as Defined by Its Minister Ingrid Stitt

In view of the upcoming Cultural Diversity Week (17-23 March 2025) in Victoria, our minister Ingrid Stitt MP felt the need to define what the week stands for.

According to my comrade in the Victorian branch/government of the Australian Labor Party (ALP), the week long activities celebrate the “colourful sounds, flavours, sights and traditions of Victoria’s rich and diverse communities”.

This is how the authorities of mainstream Australia nowadays, understand and define multiculturalism in 2025 AD! And the colourful and exotic “ethnics”, their media, their community “leaders”, the members of the current Labor government, members of the Labor party or of other political parties, who come from the various culturally diverse minority community groups, instead of protesting, instead of confronting this simplistic and up to an extent racist perception of multiculturalism, they all keep silent…

The established communities keep silent and the newer ones are fighting JUST for quotas that will ensure a culturally more diverse representation… As if culture is the only factor that determines “better” representation…

Whatever happened to policy initiatives, guys? When will the migrant history of Australia for example, become part of the national narrative of this country, our country?

As for the political parties that claim to be more progressive than Labor, for example The Greens, they don’t even bother, to offer a counter policy narrative…

How sad, how disappointing, how regressive…

Is it because, it is actually assimilation and not integration, that calls the shots in Australia?
